November 27, 2024 – CCR Media, based in Cedar Rapids, and the National Content and Technology Cooperative (NCTC) have announced a new partnership to provide NCTC members with access to more than 6,500 local broadcast channel feeds through CCR Media’s channel acquisition service.

As stated in a news release from CCR, the collaboration is designed to simplify local channel acquisition and reduce costs for NCTC members.

“CCR Media’s national footprint and the ease with which NCTC members can replace expensive headend infrastructure for existing local channel acquisition or acquire local broadcast channels to enable expansion to new markets more quickly and economically, makes this partnership a game changer,” said Steve Beardslee, NCTC Vice President of Broadband and Video Services, in the release.

The integration leverages CCR Media’s established channel acquisition service, allowing seamless compatibility with streaming app platforms. The initiative aligns with NCTC’s goal of providing innovative and cost-effective technology solutions for its members, the release states.

Based in Kansas, the National Content and Technology Cooperative (NCTC) is a nonprofit corporation representing nearly 700 independent cable and broadband operators across the U.S.
